We use a variety of natural finish techniques to produce highlights, color contrasts and durability. For instance, the above farm table features a Japanese burning technique we call, fire blackening. This unique process uses fire to carbonize the wood, resulting in a protective layer of char (the carbon released during burning). Not only does the carbon extend the lifespan of your heirloom furniture to nearly a century, it enhances the grain and deepens the color of the wood and forms a permanent, dramatic finish.
